In Pokémon GO today, on January 12th, the Spotlight Hour with Drifloon begins. We will show you the bonuses and reveal whether the event is worth it.
What is a Spotlight Hour? This event takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO and features a special Pokémon for one hour. There is also a bonus that rounds off the event.
This week is all about Drifloon. That fits, as the Sinnoh event is currently ongoing, focusing on Drifloon and other Pokémon from Generation 4.
All information about the Spotlight Hour with Drifloon
When does it start? The Spotlight Hour begins at 6:00 PM local time and lasts exactly one hour. So everything is over by 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are there? As always, the spawn points are increased and the event Pokémon appears significantly more often.
Additionally, there are double XP for catching Pokémon. So you will earn at least 200 XP per captured Pokémon.
Is the bonus worth it? Since the “GO Beyond” update, there is more XP for caught Pokémon in Pokémon GO. Great and excellent throws bring this advantage. So if you need XP for leveling up, you should take advantage of the hour. More information on gathering XP can be found here:

Are there Shiny Drifloon? Yes, you can encounter this Pokémon in its shiny form as well. You can easily recognize the difference, as Shiny Drifloon is gold instead of purple:
