This player refers to last week’s Spotlight Hour, where Felilou could be caught everywhere for an hour. The spawns there were significantly better. Felilou was clearly the defining Pokémon of that hour. However, it was quite different with Magnemite.
Why does Niantic do this? This remains a matter of speculation. Currently, the Easter event is still ongoing, and they certainly do not want to completely remove those spawns, even if it’s just for an hour.
Furthermore, the developers have always mentioned that they will continue to make adjustments to the event. However, why they weaken the event spawns so much seems incomprehensible to many.
Is there a bug behind it? Recently, Pokémon GO has been struggling with bugs repeatedly. For instance, the Marill battle day needs to be repeated because there were some issues with it.
So it is also quite possible that there was another bug here, which is why the spawns were so weak.
Niantic itself has not commented on the weak spawns. It remains to be seen whether the spawns during the upcoming Spotlight Hour with Woingenau will be better.
