In Pokémon GO the Spotlight Hour with Zirpurze starts this evening, June 30th. There is an important candy bonus to go along with it.
What is a Spotlight Hour? This event series takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO. For exactly one hour, a Pokémon is highlighted and appears everywhere. A suitable bonus rounds it off.
Today, it’s all about Zirpurze. The monster appears in accordance with the Bug Event that is currently taking place.
Spotlight Hour in June with Zirpurze
When does the event start? It starts today at 6:00 PM local time. The event lasts until 7:00 PM. After that, the spawns will return to normal.
What bonuses are there? The biggest bonus is that Zirpurze will appear everywhere. The spawns are massively increased.
Additionally, there are double candies when catching Pokémon. So you can earn at least 6 candies per Pokémon.
Are there Shiny Zirpurze? No, the Pokémon cannot be found as Shiny. Some trainers had hoped that it would be introduced as Shiny during the event, but that is not the case.
So the hunt for the Pokémon is not really worthwhile. In battle, it is useless, and without a Shiny form, it may not be interesting to many trainers.
What trainers are reporting: The event has already started in New Zealand. Many players report on reddit that they do not receive double candies.
There seems to be an error here. It remains to be seen whether Niantic has fixed this bug by 6:00 PM German time tonight.
What’s next? Currently, this is the last known Spotlight Hour. Events for July have not been released yet.
In July, however, there is an Event Marathon waiting for us. Until the GO Fest 2020, we must complete numerous tasks and tackle special research so that we can catch strong Pokémon at the GO Fest.
