What kind of event is this? In Pokémon GO, every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, a Spotlight Hour takes place. During the event, a Pokémon along with a bonus is the focus. At the beginning of each month, the team from Niantic determines which combination of Pokémon and bonus will take the spotlight in the following weeks.
The bonuses can include more XP, more Stardust, or more candies. During today’s event, you will encounter Tentacool from the first generation and receive more candies.

When does the event start? As always, you can join in starting at 6:00 PM today. The event will be scheduled to end at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are available? The most noticeable bonus consists of significantly higher spawns of Tentacool. You will be able to find the creature on almost every corner in the wild. If you desire more encounters, you can light a incense.

Is there a shiny Tentacool? Yes, the shiny variant of Tentacool has been active in Pokémon GO for a long time. Even during the Spotlight Hour, you may encounter shinies if you’re lucky. However, keep in mind that the odds are not increased.
Is the Spotlight Hour today worth it? As attackers, Tentacool and its evolution are not particularly strong. In the Ultra League, Tentacool ranks in the middle tier. However, there are many stronger alternatives.
