What event is it about? Every Tuesday, there is a so-called Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO. During this hour, a specific Pokémon is highlighted and spawns everywhere in the game. An extra bonus is supposed to enhance the event even further.
Today, on February 28, 2023, the last Spotlight Hour of February takes place, where you can encounter Bummelz – a monster from the 3rd game generation of the Normal type. Additionally, you can benefit from a candy bonus.
Spotlight Hour on February 28 – Start & Bonuses
When does the event start? The Spotlight Hour starts as usual at 6 PM local time. It will last exactly one hour, until the numerous event spawns disappear at 7 PM.
What bonuses are there? During the Spotlight Hour, you can mainly encounter a lot of Bummelz. They spawn virtually everywhere. You can attract even more specimens with incense. Plus, there’s a candy bonus for catching Pokémon. You will receive double candies for each Pokémon caught.
If you no longer need Bummelz candies, you can alternatively light a Meltan Box during this time or save postcards to catch Purmel. You can make good use of candies for both monsters. However, take care with Meltan not to have any additional incense activated, or it will cause problems with the spawns.

Is the Spotlight Hour worth it today?
Are there Shiny Bummelz? Yes, with a bit of luck, you can also encounter a shiny Bummelz during the Spotlight Hour. However, the chances are not increased. You can recognize the Shiny by its pink body.
How strong is Bummelz? The Normal-type Pokémon Bummelz is not particularly strong, but can be evolved to Letarking via Muntier. Letarking can benefit from strong attack and stamina stats, which makes it able to support your team of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
In the GO Battle League, however, the monster plays no role. However, its pre-evolution Muntier, which has secured 26th place in the Super League with a moveset of Counter, Body Slam, and Steam Roll according to the PvPoke ranking.
