What is this event? Every Tuesday evening, the Spotlight Hour runs in Pokémon GO. At the start of a month, the developers already announce which Pokémon will appear on the respective dates in the following weeks. The event lasts 60 minutes and brings plenty of spawns of the event Pokémon. A bonus makes the appointment even more worthwhile.
Today, September 6th, the Pokémon Somniam from the fifth generation is in focus. It is a Psychic-type Pokémon and can evolve into Somnivora.
Spotlight Hour on September 6th – Start, Bonuses, Shiny
When does it start? As you already know, the Spotlight Hour today runs again from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM local time.
What bonuses are there? For catching Pokémon, you will receive double Stardust. If you additionally light a Incense and move, you will attract even more Pokémon and can further increase your Stardust yield. A Star Piece would further increase your received dust.
You will encounter Somniam nearly everywhere in the wild and through the Incense. This is also a good opportunity to tackle the special research “A Cosmic Companion”. For the research, you should catch many Psychic-type Pokémon. The Spotlight Hour with Somniam as well as the Psychic Spectacle is ideal for that.

Who is the Spotlight Hour worth it for? Neither Somniam nor Somnivora are important attackers in raids or PvP. The hour is particularly worthwhile because of the Stardust bonus, which can significantly replenish your supplies if you play effectively.
With a bit of luck, you might secure a Shiny. However, the chances are not increased.
