What is a Spotlight Hour? This event takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO and focuses on a Pokémon that appears more frequently for one hour. Additionally, there is a bonus that complements the event.
This week is all about the Fire Pokémon Snickmag. We will show you whether the Spotlight Hour with the Pokémon is worth it this week.
Today’s Spotlight Hour with Snickmag – All Info
When does it start? The event starts as usual at 6:00 PM local time and lasts exactly one hour. At 7:00 PM, the spawns return to normal and the Spotlight Hour is over.
These are the bonuses: As usual for the Spotlight Hour, the general spawns are increased, and significantly more Snickmag appear. You can easily catch over 300 Pokémon in the hour.
Additionally, there are double candies for catching Pokémon. So, you will receive 6 candies per catch. If you use a Nanab Berry, you’ll even get 12 candies per Pokémon.
Is there Shiny Snickmag? No, the Pokémon does not appear in its shiny form yet. Shiny hunters will not benefit from this event.
Snickmag usually lives in particularly hot places in the Pokémon world. It is said that it can rest near lava, as it is hot enough there for it not to harden itself.
Is the event worth it? In short: Not really. Snickmag and its evolution Magcargo play no role in the meta of Pokémon GO. You don’t need a strong specimen for your team. Additionally, the bonus is not worthwhile. Double candies are nice, but since you don’t really need Snickmag, you also don’t need double candies here.
You can comfortably skip the hour and not miss much. Instead, you can look forward to the Spring Event, which starts over the Easter weekend.
