In the mobile game Pokémon GO, the Spotlight Hour with the Pokémon Smogon starts today, on February 15th. There is a bonus for more experience when catching pocket monsters. We will show you the details of the event, start and end times.
What kind of event is this? Usually, a so-called Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO starts on Tuesday evenings. During this time, you will have a selected Pokémon focused in the event for 60 minutes. This means you will find the pocket monster nearly everywhere in the wild.
The Spotlight Hour is accompanied by a bonus on the catch XP of Pokémon, which makes the event even more exciting, even if you don’t necessarily need the Pokémon.
In this article, we will show you what to expect this evening, on February 15th, and for whom it is worthwhile.
Spotlight Hour with Smogon – Start, Shiny and Bonuses
When does the event start? The Spotlight Hour begins today, on February 15th, at 6:00 PM local time. You can then play the event for an hour until it ends exactly at 7:00 PM.
These are the bonuses: During the Spotlight Hour, today’s event Pokémon Smogon spawns in almost every corner of the wild. If you want to improve your catch, you can also light a incense.
This incense and lure modules will also attract correspondingly more Smogon. So if you still need the Pokémon, you should turn on the incense.
As an additional bonus, you’ll earn more XP when catching Pokémon. This means that even if you don’t need Smogon, you can level up well by taking advantage of the Spotlight Hour.
Is there Shiny Smogon? Smogon is available in Pokémon GO in its Shiny variant as well. If you need the poison-type pocket monster in its shiny form, the Spotlight Hour is worth it for you.
Is the Spotlight Hour with Smogon worth it?
For whom is it worthwhile? Smogon and its evolution Smogmog are neither particularly strong in PvP (Trainer Battles) nor in PvE like Raids. In the Super and Hyper League, you can use the Pokémon, but there are definitely stronger alternatives for this Pokémon.
However, the catch XP bonus is something you should definitely take advantage of if you are not yet level 50. You can gather a lot of experience if you have enough Pokéballs.
What do you think about the Spotlight Hour with Smogon? Do you still need the Pokémon, or would you have preferred a different pocket monster for the event? Have you already caught a shiny Smogon or do you want to get it during the Spotlight Hour? Feel free to let us know in the comments on MeinMMO.
All Spotlight Hours in February and their bonuses will be shown on MeinMMO.
