In Pokémon GO the spotlight hour with Schneppke takes place today, December 19, 2023. Here you will find all the information about the bonuses and times of the event.
What kind of event is this? The spotlight hour is always on Tuesday evenings. In these 60 minutes, you will encounter a specific event Pokémon that spawns significantly more frequently during this time.
In addition, you will always receive a bonus that is also active for one hour. Niantic sets which combination of Pokémon and bonus is available at the beginning of each month. You can find the dates also in the overview of the December events 2023 in Pokémon GO.
This evening you will encounter the ice Pokémon Schneppke from the third generation of Pokémon.
Spotlight Hour on December 19 – Start, Shiny, Bonuses
When does it start? As always, the spotlight hour starts at 6:00 PM. The event will end at 7:00 PM, then it will continue with the spawns from the current winter holidays event.
What bonuses are active? During the spotlight hour, you can encounter Schneppke all over the wild. If you activate incense, you can get additional Schneppke spawns.
Moreover, you will receive double XP when you evolve Pokémon. Important: This applies not only to Schneppke but to everything you have in your storage. So check the search bar from 6:00 PM and select “can evolve”. This way you will see all the Pokémon that you can evolve and gain some extra XP.

Can you catch Shiny Schneppke? Yes, the shiny version of Schneppke is in the game. However, the chance to encounter it is not increased during the spotlight hour. You will need a lot of luck to find it.
Is the spotlight hour worth it? Schneppke itself is not particularly strong, and its evolution Firnontor is not necessarily a top attacker – however, it has a Mega Evolution that can be quite convincing as an ice attacker. It also boosts your other ice attackers in raids. The other evolution of Schneppke, Frosdedje, can compete in the Great League meanwhile.
