What kind of event is this? In Pokémon GO, a Spotlight Hour takes place every Tuesday evening. During this time, a Pokémon along with a bonus is the focus. Before the start of a new month, Niantic determines which Pokémon with which bonuses will be active in the following weeks. The event lasts for one hour and provides significantly more spawns of the selected Pokémon. The bonuses relate to candy, stardust, or experience points.
At today’s event, you will encounter Pumpkaboo. It belongs to the Ghost and Grass types and originates from the sixth generation of games.

When does it start? As usual, the Spotlight Hour today begins at 6:00 PM local time. The event ends after one hour at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are active? In the wild, you will encounter Pumpkaboo much more frequently. If you want even more spawns, you can additionally light a incense to attract more specimens.
During the event, you will receive double stardust for catching Pokémon. Even if you don’t need Pumpkaboo, you can still stock up on your resources during the event.

Can Shiny Pumpkaboo be caught? Yes, the shiny form of Pumpkaboo is already active in Pokémon GO and can be caught by you during the event. However, keep in mind that the chances of getting Shinys are not increased during Spotlight Hours.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it today? Neither Pumpkaboo nor its evolution are significantly strong. There are better alternatives among both Ghost and Grass Pokémon. However, merely for the stardust, participating can be worthwhile for many trainers.
Keep in mind that this bonus not only affects catches of Pumpkaboo but all Pokémon you catch during the event time.
