What is a Spotlight Hour? The Spotlight Hour is a weekly short event in Pokémon GO. It takes place every Tuesday and lasts one hour. During this time, a specific Pokémon is in focus, which consequently spawns more frequently in the wild. Additionally, you can enjoy a bonus.
This week’s Spotlight Hour features the Pokémon Shellos from the Western Sea. Moreover, you will receive double candies for catching Pokémon during this event.
Spotlight Hour with Shellos (Western Sea) – Start Time and Bonus
When does it start? As in every week, the Spotlight Hour starts today at 6:00 PM local time and ends at 7:00 PM local time.
This bonus awaits you: In addition to numerous pink Shellos that you will see on your map during this time, you will receive double candies for catching Pokémon. To get even more Pokémon, you can set a incense or lure module. This will also attract more Shellos from the Western Sea.
Are there Shiny Shellos? No, you cannot encounter Shellos in its shiny form in the game yet.
By the way: This Pokémon has two different regional forms. The Shellos from the Eastern Sea is blue and the one from the Western Sea is pink. Today, you can only encounter the pink variant.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it today?
The pink Shellos is a regional Pokémon that you cannot normally get in Germany. It is native to the Western Hemisphere. So if you don’t have this monster in your PokéDex yet, you should definitely take this opportunity. With the double candies, you also have the chance to evolve it directly into Gastrodon (Western Sea).
However, both monsters are rather uninteresting for the PvP League and raids. And even shiny hunters will have no luck in today’s Spotlight Hour.
