In Pokémon GO today, on December 15th, the Spotlight Hour with Pikachu begins. We will show you the bonuses of the event.
What is a Spotlight Hour? This event takes place every Tuesday evening in Pokémon GO. For about 60 minutes, a special Pokémon will be the focus. This means it will appear much more frequently in the wild.
Additionally, there will be a bonus that is meant to make these types of events even more exciting.
The Pokémon that is the focus today is Research Pikachu. This is currently featured due to the Celebi event in Pokémon GO.
All info on the Spotlight Hour with Pikachu
When does it start? The Spotlight Hours in Pokémon GO always start at 6:00 PM and last for one hour. The event will then end at around 7:00 PM. After that, the Pokémon that you previously found in the wild should be active again.
What bonuses are there? During the event, you will receive double the candy for catching Pokémon.
Is the Research Pikachu available as Shiny? Yes, you can also catch this special Pikachu as Shiny with a bit of luck. Pokémon GO frequently has events that put Pikachu in special outfits. Your Shiny collection will be expanded with this new specimen.

Double candy for Celebi!
What you need to know: A special research is currently underway. In “a dazzling distraction“, you will be rewarded with Shiny Celebi. If you catch this during the Spotlight Hour, you will also receive double the candy for Celebi.
