In Pokémon GO today, on March 29, the Spotlight Hour with Paras is taking place. The regular bonus gives you more candies, but the event is also good for collecting Stardust.
What is this event? Every Tuesday, the Spotlight Hour runs in Pokémon GO. For 60 minutes, a specific Pokémon is in focus and spawns significantly more often. There is also a bonus to make the event even more appealing.
Today, the Pokémon Paras from the first generation is in focus and brings a candy bonus. However, even if you want to farm Stardust, the event is worth it today.
Spotlight Hour on March 29 with Paras – Content
When does it start? The Spotlight Hour starts at the usual time at 6:00 PM local time. It will be active for one hour and ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are available? During the event, Paras appears almost everywhere in the wild. If you want to catch even more specimens, you can light incense for the event, as it will primarily attract Paras.
You will also receive double the amount of candy for catching Pokémon. Keep in mind that this applies not only to Paras candies but also to all other Pokémon catches.
Are there Shiny Paras? Yes, you can find and catch Shiny Paras with some luck. In the following graphic, we show you how Paras and its evolution Parasect look as Shiny.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it today? More Stardust
This is how strong it will be: As attackers, you can ignore Paras and Parasect. They do not play an interesting role in trainer battles, raids, or gyms.
However, Paras is among the 22 Pokémon in Pokémon GO that offer more Stardust when caught. For an unboosted catch, you receive 500 Stardust for Paras. With weather boost and a Star Piece, it is 938 Stardust per catch. If you combine the event with incense and move outside, you can significantly fill your Stardust supply.
Just because of the Stardust bonus, the Spotlight Hour today can be really worth it for you. Additionally, there is the chance for Shinies. If you raid during the event, you will also receive double the amount of candy for catching the bosses.
