What is a spotlight hour? Every Tuesday evening, Pokémon GO highlights a specific Pokémon for one hour. You can then find this Pokémon almost everywhere in the game. Furthermore, the short event is rounded off with a special bonus.
Today, on March 8, 2022, you will encounter the Grass and Psychic Pokémon Owei during the spotlight hour. In addition, you will receive an XP bonus during the event.
Spotlight Hour with Owei – Start, Bonuses & Shiny
When does the spotlight hour start? As every Tuesday, the spotlight hour will also take place today starting at 6:00 PM local time. You then have one hour to catch as many Owei as possible and make the most of the bonus until the event ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are there? During the entire spotlight hour, Owei will spawn everywhere in the wild. If you additionally use incense, extra specimens will be attracted. However, keep in mind that Niantic wants to send you outside again and has made incense worse when still.
Additionally, you will receive double experience points (XP) when evolving your monsters throughout the entire event.
Is there a Shiny Owei? Yes, you can catch a Shiny Owei with a bit of luck. You can recognize it by its golden-yellow body.
Is the spotlight hour with Owei worth it?
How strong is Owei? Owei belongs to the Grass and Psychic Pokémon of the 1st generation and can be evolved into Kokowei with the help of 50 candies. Owei is not particularly strong, and its evolution, which has a solid attack, plays rather a minor role in raids and PvP battles.
Is the spotlight hour worth it? The spotlight hour is particularly interesting today for Shiny hunters. If you are looking for a strong attacker for raids or the GO Battle League, you might not be happy with Owei.
For trainers who are still on the way to level 50, the XP bonus when evolving is worthwhile. If you were already planning to evolve some monsters, you should take the opportunity.
You receive double experience points for each monster. If you combine that with a lucky egg, you can double that again for 30 minutes.
