What is a Spotlight Hour? Every Tuesday, an event of this kind starts in Pokémon GO. For one hour, you can find the Pokémon in the wild that is in the spotlight almost everywhere in the game. This is accompanied by a bonus that can give you more candies, experience points, or stardust.
Today, the Pokémon Monozu from the fifth generation is in the spotlight. It is a Psychic-type Pokémon and can evolve into Mitodos and then into Zytomega.
Spotlight Hour with Monozu – Start, Bonuses, and Shiny
When does the event start? The event kicks off as always at 6:00 PM local time. The Spotlight Hour will then be active for one hour and ends at 7:00 PM local time.
What bonuses are there? During the event, you can find Monozu almost everywhere in the wild. If you light a incense, it mostly spawns Monozu as well. This event is accompanied by a candy bonus. You will receive double the amount of candies for sending Pokémon.
Keep in mind that the candy bonus applies to all Pokémon species that you send, not just Monozu.
Can you catch Shiny Monozu? No, so far you cannot find or catch Shiny Monozu in Pokémon GO.
Is the Spotlight Hour with Monozu worth it?
It is this strong: We have looked at the battle values of Monozu and the evolutions Mitodos and Zytomega. Unfortunately, none of the Pokémon is strong enough to prove themselves in PvP against other trainers or in PvE against raid bosses.
As a Psychic attacker, Zytomega is in direct competition with Mewtwo and Shadow Mewtwo, which secure the top two spots by a wide margin. Therefore, Monozu, Mitodos, and Zytomega are more for collectors who want to complete their Pokédex.
This could be worthwhile: If you collected Pokémon from previous events and have not sent them yet, you can use the event and focus on the candy bonus.
This way, you can also use the event to do raids and send weak legendary Pokémon to gather coveted candies.
