Today, on July 12, there will be a Spotlight Hour in Pokémon GO. This time, the Pokémon Machop is in the spotlight. We at MeinMMO will show you when the event starts, what bonuses there are, and whether it is worth it for you.
What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour takes place every week on Tuesday evenings in Pokémon GO. During this hour, a specific Pokémon is featured, which appears more frequently than its counterparts.
The first Spotlight Hour in July focused on the Pokémon Ledyba and brought an XP bonus. This week, on July 12, the Pokémon Machop is in the spotlight, and you will receive more candy for catching these pocket monsters.
Spotlight Hour with Machop – Start, Bonuses & Shiny
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As you are used to, the Spotlight Hour starts today at 6:00 PM German time. From this point, Machop will appear more frequently for 60 minutes until the event ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are there? During the Machop hour, you will receive double the amount of catch candy. This bonus applies not only to Machop itself but to all Pokémon you can catch during these hours. You can also participate in raids during the 60 minutes to collect double candies.
Also, the Meltan from the Mystery Box is a welcome candidate for this bonus.
Is Machop available as a Shiny? Yes, the shiny Machop has been available in Pokémon GO for some time now. Its two evolutions are also available as Shinys in the game. However, it usually requires a lot of luck to encounter it.
Is the Spotlight Hour with Machop worth it?
How strong is Machop: Machop itself is not among the strongest Pokémon in the game. However, if you evolve it, you will receive Machoke as its second evolution. Machoke is one of the strongest fighting attackers in the game and is suitable for both PvE and PvP in your team.
Other strong fighting attackers, such as Lucario or Machamp, are also significantly harder to obtain. So if you are missing a fighter in your team, you should definitely take advantage of the hour.
Who is the Spotlight Hour worth it for? If you are still missing a strong fighting Pokémon in your roster, then the Spotlight Hour is definitely worth it for you. If you are already set in that regard, it is more for players who want to test their Shiny luck.
However, the candy bonus, which applies to all Pokémon during these 60 minutes, is also interesting. You can use it as a raid hour and thus collect more candies for the coveted legendary Pokémon if you no longer need Machop.
What bosses you can encounter in these raids in July, we will reveal to you in a separate article about the raid hours in July.
