What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour takes place regularly on Tuesdays in Pokémon GO. For 60 minutes, the focus is on one Pokémon that appears significantly more often during this hour.
Today’s event revolves around the Grass Pokémon Kinoso in its Sunny Form. The evolution of the Cherry Pokémon Kikugi can be found at every corner of the wilderness. Additionally, there is an XP bonus during the hour.
Spotlight Hour on April 26 with Kinoso – Content
When does it start? As usual, the Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM local time. It lasts exactly one hour and ends at 7:00 PM.
These bonuses are available: Basically, the spawn rate of Kinoso in its Sunny Form is increased. Also, you can typically attract the event Pokémon more effectively with the Incense item.
Most notably, the XP bonus is interesting: During the Spotlight Hour, you receive double XP for all Pokémon you catch. You can double this number again if you use a Lucky Egg during the Spotlight Hour.
However, Kinoso in its Sunny Form is not necessarily easy to catch and can defend itself well when you want to catch it. The bonus applies to all Pokémon.
Is there Shiny Kinoso? Generally, Shiny Kinoso has been available in the game since the shiny Kikugi was added during the “Environmental Week”. Thus, its evolution is also available as a shiny Pokémon. However, it is still uncertain whether Shiny Kinoso can be encountered in the wild and thus during the Spotlight Hour.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it today?
How strong will it be: Kinoso does not play a significant role in Pokémon GO battles. You might still use it as an option in the Super League in PvP, but that’s about it. In raids, there are clearly better attackers in Pokémon GO.
Thus, the Spotlight Hour is primarily worth it if you still lack a Kinoso in its Sunny Form in your collection. This can definitely be the case since the Kikugi evolution randomly determines which form you get.
Otherwise, Kinoso is not particularly interesting. The XP bonus might be exciting for players looking to level up – but it should be noted that Kinoso is not easy to hold in the ball.
