What kind of event is this? Every Tuesday evening, an event of this kind takes place in Pokémon GO. For one hour, a selected Pokémon is in the spotlight of the game and can often be found by you. The combination of Pokémon and bonuses that appear at the events is determined by Niantic at the beginning of each month.
Today you will encounter the Pokémon Jurob from the first generation of games. It belongs to the Water type and can evolve into Jugong.
Spotlight Hour on December 12 – Start, Shiny and Bonuses
When does it start? The Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM as usual. After one hour, at 7:00 PM, it will already be over, and the event spawns from the new “Hard Times” event will reappear.
What bonuses are active? During the event, you will encounter Jurob almost everywhere in the wild. If you want, you can activate a smoke and lure even more Pokémon of this type.
Additionally, you will receive double the amount of candies for sending Pokémon.

Can you catch Shiny Jurob? Yes, the shiny form of Jurob has been active in Pokémon GO for a long time and can be caught by you. You also have the chance for it at today’s event. However, keep in mind that the shiny chances are not increased during Spotlight Hours.
Is it worth attending the Spotlight Hour today? Unfortunately, Jurob and Jugong are not strong attackers that would be useful for raids. There is simply too much strong competition in their type categories. However, Jugong has a very special purpose: the Super League of trainer battles. There, it belongs to the upper midfield of the best attackers.
However, you can use the time to tidy up your collection and earn many candies.
