What is the spotlight hour? Every Tuesday, Niantic hosts a one-hour event where a predetermined Pokémon is highlighted. You can find the monster almost everywhere in the game.
Today is the day again, and you can look forward to plenty of encounters with the normal and fairy-type Pokémon Jigglypuff. The spotlight hour is also complemented by an XP bonus.
Spotlight Hour on February 21st – Start, Bonuses & Shiny
When does the event start? The spotlight hour always takes place on Tuesdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This will also be the case today, February 21st, 2023.
What bonuses are there? During the one-hour event, you will encounter Jigglypuff everywhere in the wild. If you also use incense, you can increase the spawns even more.
In addition to the numerous encounters with the little monster, you can also look forward to double XP (experience points) when catching. This XP bonus applies to all caught monsters during the short event.
In February 2023, the spotlight hour with Jigglypuff is already the third of its kind. We will show you in the following post what content to expect in the coming week:
Is there shiny Jigglypuff? Yes, with a bit of luck, you can encounter a shiny specimen. You can recognize it by its green eyes. In contrast to the Community Day, the shiny chance is not increased during the spotlight hour.
Is the spotlight hour with Jigglypuff worth it? The normal and fairy Pokémon from the first generation of games can evolve into Wigglytuff. However, neither of the two monsters is particularly strong and thus has little use in raids and PvP battles.
Therefore, the spotlight hour is primarily worth it for shiny hunters and because of the XP bonus. If you need some experience points on your way to level 50, you shouldn’t miss out on this bonus.
