What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour takes place every Tuesday evening. A specific Pokémon appears for 60 minutes, which spawns significantly more often. You will find it everywhere in the wild. In addition, there is a rotating bonus each week.

This week you will encounter the Ice-type Pokémon Gelatini from the fifth generation of games.
Spotlight Hour on December 26 – Start, Shiny, Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? The event starts today at 6:00 PM. However, it ends again at 7:00 PM and the regular spawns from the current Winter Holiday event will appear again.
What bonuses are active? The main bonus is the increased appearance of Gelatini. Today, you have the perfect opportunity to secure many specimens and candies for the evolution into Gelatroppo and Gelatwino. If you activate a “Incense,” you can encounter even more Gelatini.
Additionally, you will receive double the amount of Stardust when you catch Pokémon.
Can you catch Shiny Gelatini? Yes, and it has only recently been introduced. The Shiny variant was added to the game in December 2023 and is now catchable. However, keep in mind that the chances of encountering one are not increased. So you will need a lot of luck to find it.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you are looking for a strong fighter, Gelatini will not help you. The Pokémon is not particularly strong in raids or in the PvP league, and this applies to its evolutions as well.
This hour is more for collectors: players who want to secure the Pokédex entry for Gelatini’s evolutions or try their luck in the Shiny hunt. Furthermore, there is double Stardust – and that’s a resource you can never have enough of.
