What’s happening today? A Spotlight Hour event regularly starts on Tuesday evenings in Pokémon GO. During the Spotlight Hour, a specific Pokémon is highlighted, appearing much more frequently in the wild. To make it more exciting, a bonus concludes this event.
This week, the Water and Psychic Pokémon Slowpoke is in the spotlight. It belongs to the first generation of Pokémon and was part of the big event “a very slow discovery.”
Spotlight Hour with Slowpoke – Start Time and Bonuses
When does it start? As you are used to from previous events of this kind, the Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM local time. From this time, Slowpoke will appear everywhere. The event should then end around 7:00 PM, and the spawns of Slowpoke will decrease in frequency.
This is the bonus: During the event, you will receive double candies for sending Pokémon. This applies not only to the new Pokémon you catch and send during the Spotlight Hour but also to older ones from your collection.
What does Shiny Slowpoke look like? Visually, Slowpoke only differs slightly from its shiny version. The shiny has a lighter color. For Slowbro, the shiny is more purple, and for Slowking, the swim ring’s colors are blue instead of orange.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it today? The bonus of double candies for sending Pokémon is quite special. If you have kept some Pokémon from your last catches in your collection, you can now send them in bulk and receive extra candies for it.
Additionally, this is a great opportunity to gather many candies for Slowpoke and its evolutions. Shiny collectors might also get lucky during the Spotlight Hour today, June 15th, and possibly expand their collection by one or more specimens.
However, you won’t get particularly strong Pokémon from this Spotlight Hour. The data on the GamePress website reveals this (via GamePress.gg). Slowpoke, Slowbro, and Slowking play no significant role in PvP (Trainer vs. Trainer) and PvE (Raids) and can be entirely neglected.
