What is a Spotlight Hour? This event takes place every Tuesday evening in Pokémon GO and highlights a special Pokémon for one hour. Additionally, there is a bonus to complement the event.
This week you will encounter Finneon. The Water-type fish Pokémon is from Generation 4.
Spotlight Hour with Finneon – Start Time and Bonuses
When does it start? As you may already know, the Spotlight Hour starts again today at 6:00 PM local time. In the game, you will notice that most spawns around you will be Finneon. The event lasts for one hour and should conclude around 7:00 PM.
These are the bonuses: While the event is active, you will be able to find Finneon everywhere. Additionally, there is a bonus that affects your experience points. You will receive double experience points for catching Pokémon.
Finneon is the pre-evolution of Lumineon. Both species belong solely to the Water type.
Upon evolution, its fins become significantly larger.
The Pokémon story behind Finneon is that it uses its glowing fins to lure in its prey. During the day, it stays close to the water’s surface. In the evening, it disappears into the depths of the sea.
Is there a Shiny Finneon? No, the shiny form of Finneon has not yet been released in Pokémon GO. You cannot catch it during the Spotlight Hour today.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it today? If you are still missing Finneon in your collection, you can catch a few. However, it is not a “Must Have” Pokémon. Therefore, the Spotlight Hour is mainly worthwhile for trainers who are still hunting for experience points and can take advantage of the XP bonus.
Shiny hunters will also not benefit today.
