In Pokémon GO, a Spotlight Hour with Fiffyen starts today, on May 19th, with a Candy Bonus that you should take advantage of.
What is it about? At regular intervals, the Niantic team launches Pokémon GO Spotlight Hours in May. This happens every Tuesday. During these events, a specific Pokémon species along with a bonus is focused for one hour.
Today, on May 19th, the event starts again at the usual evening time. During this time, you will encounter many Fiffyen and gather some Candies if you participate actively.
Spotlight Hour with Fiffyen – What’s going on?
When does it start? The event kicks off at 6:00 PM local time. From then, you have an hour to make use of the event. The Spotlight Hour will end at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are there? During the event time, you will encounter the Dark-type Pokémon Fiffyen significantly more often in the wild.
You will also receive double the amount of Candies for catching Pokémon. It’s a great opportunity to catch your Groudon from the Hoenn research and collect more Candies for the Power-Up. Combined with a Sananabeere, you will then receive 12 Groudon Candies for catching the legendary Pokémon.

What does the Shiny look like? If you’re lucky, you might encounter the Shiny version of Fiffyen during the Spotlight Hour. In the graphic below, you can see the normal and shiny versions of Fiffyen and its evolution Magnayen.
Is the event worth it? The Spotlight Hour on May 19th is worth it for you if you need more Candies for specific Pokémon that are currently spawning.
