In Pokémon GO today, on September 1, the Spotlight Hour with Eevee is taking place. We will show you the bonuses and tell you if the event is worth it.
What is a Spotlight Hour? This event features a special Pokémon every Tuesday evening. It appears more frequently for one hour, and a corresponding bonus rounds it off.
This time, it’s all about the Normal-type Pokémon Eevee. It is the first Spotlight Hour in September – 4 more such events have already been announced.
All info about the Spotlight Hour with Eevee
When does the event take place? As always, the Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM local time. You can benefit from the bonuses until 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are there? Of course, there will be increased spawns, this time primarily featuring Eevee.
Additionally, there are double XP for catching Pokémon. You will get at least 200 XP per Pokémon.
Is there Shiny Eevee? Since the Community Day in August 2018, you can catch Shiny Eevee. If you weren’t there at that time, you might still need one or more Shinies. After all, Eevee currently has 7 evolutions. If you want a Shiny of each variant, you will have to hunt for Shinies diligently.
In our guide to Eevee evolutions, you can read how to influence the evolutions and guarantee getting the desired evolution.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you already have enough Shiny Eevees, you can skip the event confidently. Eevee is quite a common Pokémon anyway, and many players should have enough candies.
If you still need Shinies, then you should participate. There will hardly be a better opportunity to get a Shiny Eevee.
The XP bonus is quite useless, by the way. There are significantly better ways to gain XP. Friendships or raids are more suitable for that.
If you are not interested in the Spotlight Hour, you can check out the new Mega Events happening in September. 3 new Mega Evolutions and many bonuses are waiting for you.
