In Pokémon GO today, on July 6, 2021, the Spotlight Hour with Bulbasaur starts. We at MeinMMO show you what bonus you can expect and whether catching is worth it.
What is a Spotlight Hour? For trainers in Pokémon GO, a one-hour event takes place every Tuesday. During this time, a specific Pokémon is in the spotlight and spawns particularly frequently. Additionally, players receive a special bonus that also changes weekly.
This week, during the Spotlight Hour, you will encounter the starter Pokémon Bulbasaur. It is one of the Pokémon from the first generation and is a Grass type. During this short event, trainers receive double experience points (XP) for catching Pokémon.
While Bulbasaur and its first evolution Ivysaur are relatively weak Pokémon in the game, its second evolution Venusaur can score big among grass Pokémon. It is one of the strongest Grass attackers in Pokémon GO and is therefore well-suited for both PvP League and raids. However, you can also use Bulbasaur as a strong Grass attacker for the current Element Cup.
Spotlight Hour with Bulbasaur – Start Time and Bonuses
When does it start? The Spotlight Hour starts today at 6:00 PM local time and lasts exactly one hour. Therefore, the event will be over by 7:00 PM.
This is the bonus: During the Spotlight Hour, you will primarily encounter the Pokémon Bulbasaur. On top of that, you can expect double XP for catching Pokémon.
Is there a shiny Bulbasaur? Yes, the shiny variant of Bulbasaur has been in the game for quite some time. However, to recognize it, you need to look a bit closer, as shiny Bulbasaur only differs by a slightly lighter shade of green. The difference is quite visible with Venusaur:
Is the Spotlight Hour with Bulbasaur worth it?
Yes! Even though you will repeatedly encounter Bulbasaur in Pokémon GO and it is thus not a rare Pokémon, you should take advantage of the Spotlight Hour today. Venusaur, the second evolution of Bulbasaur, is one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. And Bulbasaur is also well-suited for the current Element Cup.
The Spotlight Hour is your chance to catch a strong Bulbasaur. Additionally, the bonus should not be overlooked. To level up, you need to gather corresponding experience points in Pokémon GO. During the Spotlight Hour, you will receive double XP for catching Pokémon today.
So, anyone who still needs some should take this opportunity and catch diligently. To receive even more XP, you can also use a Lucky Egg. This will again double the experience points for catching Pokémon. The Lucky Egg lasts for 30 minutes.
By the way: Due to the anniversary celebration on the occasion of Pokémon GO’s 5th birthday, all Lures will last for one hour each.
