Spotlight Hour on December 3 – Start and Bonuses
When does the spotlight hour start? As usual, the spotlight hour starts at 6:00 PM. Exactly 60 minutes later, at 7:00 PM, it will end.
What bonus is active? If you catch Pokémon during the event, you will receive double the amount of Stardust during this spotlight hour. The bonus applies to every monster you catch.
Can you catch Shiny Sableye? Yes. If you are lucky, you can also encounter the Shiny form of Sableye. However, the chance of this is not increased during the event.
Is the spotlight hour worth it? The event is especially worthwhile for you if you need Stardust. Sableye is one of the monsters that generally yields more Stardust per catch. Instead of the regular amount of 100, you will receive a whopping 750 Stardust per catch.
With the bonus in the event, you will even receive a total of 1,500 Stardust per catch. You can further increase this bonus by using Star Pieces by another 50%. Thus, you will receive a total of 2,250 Stardust for a single catch.
If you plan to use Sableye in raids and in the battle league, you might want to reconsider this plan. The monster is not among the best attackers in Pokémon GO and should not be used, as there are significantly stronger Pokémon for this purpose.
