The first Spotlight Hour in March 2025 is coming to Pokémon GO. This event features a fighting Pokémon and a strong bonus.
What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a short event that takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO. At least one Pokémon is featured and appears in high numbers during the event. There is also a bonus available.
In the first Spotlight Hour in March, you can expect Makuhita. This fighting Pokémon from Generation 3 can evolve into Hariyama.
Spotlight Hour on March 4 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As you are used to, the Spotlight Hour begins at 6:00 PM and ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonus is active? During the event, you will receive double the amount of candy when you send Pokémon to the professor. It doesn’t matter which Pokémon you send: the bonus applies to every Pokémon.
Can you catch Shiny Makuhita? Yes. If you’re lucky, you might also snag a shiny version of Makuhita during the event.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? Hariyama, the evolution of Makuhita, is a decent attacker; however, it is no longer featured among the list of the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO. The shadow variant of the Pokémon is still one of the strongest fighting attackers in the game.
If you still need candy for it, you can take advantage of the event to replenish your supply.
If you send Pokémon to the professor during the event, you will receive double the amount of candy for it. This can be particularly worthwhile if you need candy for some Pokémon for which you still have copies in your Pokémon box.
If you mark the corresponding Pokémon with a tag in advance, you can send them to the professor very quickly during the event.
