What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a 60-minute event that takes place every week on Tuesday. You can expect at least one Pokémon to be in focus, which appears almost everywhere on the map.
Additionally, there is a bonus that is active during the short event.
On February 4, 2025, you can look forward to Kanivanha in the Spotlight Hour. This Pokémon from Generation 3 has the types Dark and Water and evolves into Tohaido.
Spotlight Hour on February 4 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? The Spotlight Hour always starts at 6:00 PM and lasts for 60 minutes. This means it ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are active? If you evolve Pokémon during the event, you will receive double the amount of experience points for this. The bonus applies to all Pokémon you evolve.
By using Lucky Eggs, you can further increase the bonus and potentially receive quadruple the amount.
Can you catch Shiny Kanivanha? Yes. If you’re lucky, you may find and catch Kanivanha in its Shiny form.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you plan to use Kanivanha and its evolution for raids or in the battle league, you might want to reconsider. Unfortunately, these Pokémon are not suitable for either area of use.
If you are missing this Shiny or are actively collecting experience points, then this event could be interesting for you in that regard. The chance of getting a Shiny is not increased, but due to the high number of spawns, you have better chances than usual.
