What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is an event that takes place every Tuesday in Pokémon GO. During this event, there is a Pokémon that is in the spotlight and appears almost exclusively and in large numbers during the event. As the name suggests, the event lasts for 60 minutes.
In addition to the Pokémon, there is also a bonus during the Spotlight Hour that is active for the duration.
Today, you will find Glibunkel in the Spotlight Hour, a Pokémon with the types Poison and Fighting that comes from the 4th generation. It can evolve into Toxiquak.
Spotlight Hour on April 9 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, the event will start today at 6:00 PM and end at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are active? During the Spotlight Hour today, there will be an experience points bonus when you evolve Pokémon. You can look forward to double experience points.
Can you catch Shiny Glibunkel? Yes, Glibunkel can also appear in its Shiny form during the Spotlight Hour.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? Glibunkel and its evolution Toxiquak are not exactly among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. At least in the Ultra League, Toxiquak is an acceptable Pokémon. However, there are certainly better Pokémon if you’re active in this battle league.
If you are aiming for the Shiny variant of Glibunkel, this event might be worth it for you. Although the Shiny chance is not increased, the large number of Glibunkel spawns gives you a better chance to catch such a specimen.
The experience points bonus for evolving Pokémon might be interesting for you if you have plans to evolve a larger number of Pokémon anyway and are currently collecting experience points.
