What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is an event that takes place every week. Every Tuesday, a Pokémon is featured and appears in very high numbers during the event.
Aside from the Pokémon, there is also a bonus that is active during the event.
Today, Garstella is the star of the Spotlight Hour. This Pokémon from Generation 7 has the types Poison and Water and can evolve into Aggrostella.
Spotlight Hour on May 28 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? The Spotlight Hour always starts on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM. It lasts exactly 60 minutes and ends at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are active? Today’s bonus is a bonus of experience points for catching Pokémon. You will receive double experience points. The bonus applies not only to catching Garstella but to all Pokémon that you catch during the time.
Can you catch Shiny Garstella? Yes, if you are lucky, you may encounter the shiny variant of Garstella during today’s Spotlight Hour. The chance of a Shiny Garstella is not fundamentally increased, but due to the large number of spawns, you might encounter a Shiny specimen.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? Garstella and Aggrostella are not Pokémon that are suitable for your raid teams. Neither can be found in the list of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
