In Pokémon GO takes place again this evening, on March 3rd, the Spotlight Hour. We will show you what happens this time.
What is the Spotlight Hour? This event series took place almost every Tuesday in February in Pokémon GO. Only last Tuesday did the developers make an exception.
In this event, one or more Pokémon appear significantly more frequently in the wild. They are put in the spotlight.
Spotlight Hour with many Pokémon
When does it start today? The Spotlight Hour begins again at 6 PM local time. It lasts exactly one hour and ends at 7 PM.
What happens today? This time, the Spotlight Hour runs similarly to last time. There is no special Pokémon in focus; rather, all monsters are simply significantly more common.
For this, the spawns are significantly increased, and you will encounter plenty of Pokémon at almost every corner.
Is this event hour worth it? Definitely! There are Pokémon everywhere that you don’t see daily, and in general, you have shiny checks at every corner. Those who play diligently can catch over 200 Pokémon in the hour and have good chances of getting a shiny.
You will notice a significant difference from regular play, and even in the villages, there’s a lot going on.
What happens after the event? In March, Niantic wants to hold the Spotlight Hour every week again. It will probably run quite similarly.
Additionally, there is the Raid Hour every Wednesday. This time with the new legendary Pokémon Thundurus. On Thursday, there will again be the Wonder Bonus Hour. There, Niantic will focus on a special bonus.
In March, there are also new Field Research tasks. We will show you the quests and their rewards:
