This is the Spotlight Hour: The Spotlight Hour takes place regularly on Tuesday evenings. It is designed to highlight one or more Pokémon. These will appear significantly more frequently in the wild.
Spotlight Hour with Increased Spawns
When does it start today? As is customary, the Spotlight Hour started at 6:00 PM local time. It will run until 7:00 PM.
What is happening today? Today’s Spotlight Hour will proceed similarly to the last few times. After the initial Spotlight Hours focused on individual monsters like Onix or Spoink, Niantic transitioned to simply filling the hour with increased spawns.
This is also the case this week. There are again increased spawns, but no individual Pokémon stand out. So tonight, you will likely have the chance to catch many different monsters at once.
Is the event hour worth it? In general, the hour is definitely worth it. After all, you can catch significantly more Pokémon than in the regular daily routine, and you might even secure a shiny or two. However, if you were hoping for a specific Pokémon, you might be disappointed.
