What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is an event that takes place every Tuesday. During this hour, a Pokémon is in focus, appearing in very high numbers for 60 minutes.

In the next Spotlight Hour on June 11, 2024, Wingull will be in the spotlight. This Pokémon comes from the 3rd generation of the game and has the types Water and Flying. It can evolve into Pelipper.
Spotlight Hour on June 11 – Start and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, the Spotlight Hour begins at 6:00 PM. After exactly 60 minutes, at 7:00 PM, it will be over again.
What bonuses are active? For this Spotlight Hour, there is a candy bonus when you send Pokémon to the Professor. You will receive 2 candies for the respective Pokémon instead of just 1 candy.
Can you catch Shiny Wingull? Yes, you can also encounter Shiny Wingull. The chance of a Shiny Pokémon appearing is not increased. However, due to the high number of Wingull spawns, you might still be able to get a Shiny specimen with a bit of luck.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you’re hoping to use Wingull and its evolution Pelipper in raids, you’ll be disappointed. Both Pokémon are not particularly strong and cannot be found in the list of the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
However, in the battle leagues, it’s a different story. Pelipper is a very strong Pokémon in both the Great League and the Ultra League and performs well in both leagues. For this, you should focus on the move combination of Wing Attack, Weather Ball, and Hurricane.
The bonus in the event is also very good if your Pokémon box is well filled and you need to clean up. This goes particularly quickly if you have marked the corresponding Pokémon with a tag beforehand.
