What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is an event that takes place every week on Tuesday. There is a Pokémon that is in focus and appears in very high numbers during the hour.
Alongside the Pokémon, there is always a bonus that is active for the duration of the event.
During the next Spotlight Hour, which takes place on June 18, 2024, you will encounter Karrablast. This Rock-type Pokémon is from Generation 5 of the games. It can evolve into Escavalier and then into Escavalier.
Spotlight Hour on June 18 – Start Time and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As usual, the Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM. It ends an hour later at 7:00 PM.
What bonuses are active? If you evolve Pokémon during this Spotlight Hour, you will receive double the amount of experience points for the evolution.
Can you catch Shiny Karrablast? Yes. If you’re lucky, you might also encounter Karrablast in its Shiny variant during the Spotlight Hour. However, the chance is not increased.
Given the high number of Karrablast that can appear during the Spotlight Hour, you have many opportunities to get a potential Shiny.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? If you evolve Karrablast to its final form, Escavalier, you can look forward to a solid Rock-type attacker. Escavalier can also be found in the list of best attackers in Pokémon GO.
In the battle leagues, it looks different. Neither Karrablast itself nor its evolutions are suitable Pokémon for the battle leagues. In both the Great, Ultra, and Master leagues, you should rather opt for other Pokémon.
If you have many Pokémon accumulated that you want to evolve and are actively hunting for experience points, then the experience point bonus could be worth it for you.
