Once again, a Spotlight Hour is approaching in Pokémon GO. Along with Imantis, there is also an experience points bonus waiting for you.
What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a 60-minute event that takes place every Tuesday. In this event, there is at least one Pokémon that takes center stage, along with an additional bonus.
In the Spotlight Hour on April 15, 2025, you can encounter Imantis. The plant Pokémon comes from Generation 7 and has an evolution called Mantidea.
Spotlight Hour on April 15 – Start Time and Bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? Like every week, the Spotlight Hour begins at 6:00 PM. Exactly 60 minutes later, at 7:00 PM, it will end.
What bonus is active? In this short event, there will be a bonus on experience points when evolving Pokémon. You will receive double the amount of experience points for each evolution you perform within the 60 minutes.
The bonus is not limited to Imantis, but applies to every Pokémon you evolve.
Can you catch Shiny Imantis? Yes. If you are lucky, you might also encounter the Shiny variant of Imantis and catch it.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? Neither Imantis nor Mantidea are Pokémon that are particularly worthwhile for battles. You shouldn’t plan to use both Pokémon for the battle league or in raids. For raids, you should rather rely on Pokémon from our list of best attackers for Pokémon GO.
If you have some Pokémon that you have been wanting to evolve for a while, you can use the event optimally to collect some additional XP. If you also use Lucky Eggs, you can receive four times the amount of experience points for each evolution.
