In Pokémon GO, a Spotlight Hour starts again today, April 21st. This time, Woingenau is the focus, and you have the chance to catch a rare Shiny.
What happens during the Spotlight Hour? During this event, a special Pokémon will appear much more frequently for one hour. This time, everything revolves around Woingenau.
In addition, there is a bonus that you can ideally take advantage of from home this time. This bonus is thanks to a change that Niantic introduced to the game at the beginning of the month.
All about the Spotlight Hour on April 21st with Woingenau
When does it start? The Spotlight Hour starts as usual at 6:00 PM local time. You can benefit from increased spawns for one hour.
What bonuses are there in the event? In addition to the increased spawns of Woingenau, there are also double candies when sending Pokémon. You can make great use of this bonus from home, as sending Pokémon doesn’t require you to go outside.
So send your monsters diligently. You will receive 2 candies per Pokémon. This is especially worthwhile for monsters that are rare, where every candy counts.
Is there Shiny Woingenau? That is the special feature of this event. So far, Shiny Woingenau could only be obtained through evolution. In the wild, you could only catch the normal Woingenau. However, during the Spotlight Hour, Shiny Woingenau (Wobbuffet) will first appear in the wild.

So take the chance. It is possible that you can continue to catch it in the wild after the event, as it has been the case with Pokémon like Magmar or Mogelbaum.
What players report: The first players have already played the Spotlight Hour. Some trainers complain on reddit that especially at the beginning, the spawns of Woingenau were too poor.
It is quite possible that we in Germany will initially get worse spawns as well. However, Niantic may have quickly fixed this issue.
During the Spotlight Hour, you will also likely encounter Pokémon like Volbeat or Illumise. They are part of the current Buddy Event.
