In Pokémon GO today the next Spotlight Hour is taking place. This time you’ll find an event Pikachu and an XP bonus.
What kind of event is this? The Spotlight Hour is a recurring event that takes place every Tuesday. During this time, there is a Pokémon that is in the spotlight and appears in high numbers.
The event lasts exactly 60 minutes. Along with the Pokémon, a bonus is also active during this time.
During today’s Spotlight Hour, you will find Pikachu wearing a cake hat. Pikachu is one of the most popular Pokémon, which has existed since Generation 1. It can evolve into Raichu and is an Electric type.
Spotlight Hour on July 2 – Start time and bonuses
When does the Spotlight Hour start? As always, the Spotlight Hour starts at 6:00 PM. After 60 minutes, at 7:00 PM, the event is over again.
What bonuses are active? In today’s Spotlight Hour, there is an XP bonus for catching Pokémon. If you catch Pokémon within the 60 minutes, you will receive double the amount of experience points.
Can you catch Shiny Pikachu? Yes, with a bit of luck, you might also get the cake hat Pikachu in its Shiny form. The Shiny chance is not increased, but due to the high number of spawns, you have many opportunities to obtain a Shiny specimen.
Is the Spotlight Hour worth it? Pikachu with a cake hat cannot evolve into Raichu. The Pokémon is not worth using in raids, as it is not among the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
Also, you shouldn’t rely on Pikachu for battles in the leagues. It doesn’t matter here either. You should use other Pokémon for this.
