Niantic has announced that special summer forms from the Alola region of Pokémon are coming to Pokémon GO. Monsters from the Kanto region (1st generation) will soon be discovered in their Alola forms, which trainers know from the Alola Pokédex of Sun and Moon.
This is what Niantic says: As Niantic has announced, special Pokémon from the tropical Alola region will soon be found around the globe in Pokémon GO. Some of the Pokémon originally found in the Kanto region will appear soon in unique forms.
Summer 2018 will be tropical in Pokémon GO
Sun, summer, Pokémon: This is likely a summer event of Pokémon GO, aiming to take advantage of the good weather in the northern hemisphere. Experience shows that many trainers are out and about then. Niantic apparently wants to give them something to catch. This seems to be a compromise, as they do not yet want to unleash the 4th generation on the world.
Where does this Alola form come from? They were already seen in the video games Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon.
When does it start? That is not known yet. The special Pokémon are supposed to appear in the “coming weeks.” Niantic will soon provide more information.
