Today, on June 19, 2020, the big Solstice event starts in Pokémon GO. There will be great bonuses and the switch of regional Pokémon.
When does the Solstice event start? It starts today, June 19, at 08:00 AM German time. It ends on June 24 at 10:00 PM local time.
You can take advantage of the bonuses for less than a week. The Solstice event is one of two events that will take place in June.
All info about the big Solstice event
These bonuses are available: The event focuses on the sun and the moon. Therefore, there will mainly be Pokémon associated with them:
- Pokémon like Clefairy and Sunkern appear in the wild, raids, quests, and in 5 km eggs – there are also more Pokémon linked to the sun or moon
- Shiny Clefairy appears for the first time in the wild – until now, the shiny was only available through the evolution of Cleffa
- Double star dust when catching Pokémon
- Lunatone and Solrock will switch regions during the event. We will show the exact schedule:
- On Friday, June 19, at 8:00 AM until Saturday, June 20, at 11:59 PM (local time) Lunatone will be increased in our area
- From Sunday, June 21, at 12:00 PM until Monday, June 22, at 11:59 PM (local time), Lunatone and Solrock will be in our region
- From Tuesday, June 23, at 12:00 PM until Wednesday, June 24, at 10:00 PM (local time), only Solrock will remain in Germany
After the event, Solrock will remain in Germany as a regional Pokémon. You will encounter Lunatone for the last time on June 22.
What can be said about the spawns? You should especially take advantage of the chance to catch Lunatone and Solrock. Lunatone is quite rare here outside of events and you might encounter increased spawns during the event.
If you don’t have a shiny yet, you should mainly hunt Lunatone, as it will not be available in Germany for a while after that.
Otherwise, the topic of “sun and moon” reveals very little about possible spawns. Sunkern and Clefairy are good examples here, but many more Pokémon related to this topic are hard to find.
Make use of the Spotlight Hour: On June 23, the Spotlight Hour with Clefairy will take place. You will have the best chances there to encounter a shiny. You will recognize the shiny by its green ear tips.
Is the bonus worth it? Double star dust for catching Pokémon is always a good bonus. Star dust is the most important resource in the game, and you can never have enough of it.
In line with this, we have also created a guide showing you how to collect a lot of star dust in a short time. Check it out to prepare well for the event.
