Pokémon GO offers you various tools to obtain Pokémon more easily. One of them is incense, as the smoke cloud attracts wild Pokémon to your location, making it easier for you to catch them. But how does the premium item work, and what does it do exactly? Read about it here in our incense guide!
“If the prophet does not come to the mountain, then the mountain must come to the prophet,” goes an old saying, and similarly, it works in Pokémon GO when you use a special item that directly attracts Pokémon to you. We are talking about incense, a real-money item from the shop that can be purchased for about 0.80 euros. Occasionally, you can also receive incense modules as a reward for level-ups, but if you need a lot of them, there is no way around spending real money. But what does the incense do?

Incense is a kind of mini-lure module in Pokémon GO, as it attracts all wild Pokémon from the surroundings for 30 minutes and brings them to the player. However, the attracted creatures count only for ourselves. It is not a freely available lure module that we can ignite anywhere for the big Poké party. Incense is only for personal use and is most worthwhile when you have many Pokémon spawn points around you, allowing you to grab a new Pokémon approximately every five minutes. Ideal, therefore, to catch a few creatures stress-free during lunch breaks or at home on the couch.
What have been your experiences with incense so far? Were you able to use the incense clouds effectively, or was it not worth the money because hardly anything was attracted? Let us know and share your thoughts in the comments!
