In Pokémon GO a new event “Slumbering Sand” starts today, on June 7th. We will show you what content the event holds.
What kind of event is this? The new event called “Slumbering Sand” starts on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 AM and runs until Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 8:00 PM. It is one of the first events of the new season Heavenly Teamwork
.
As is often the case, various Pokémon, bonuses, and other contents await you in the event. Two Pokémon will be appearing as Shiny for the first time.
Shinys and Costumed Pokémon
What new Shinys are there? Koalelu, the Koala Pokémon from the 7th generation of games, will be available in the event for the first time as Shiny. However, it is one of the Pokémon that will appear less frequently in the event, so you will likely need a good portion of luck to find it. Here you can find out how to get it.
You will also encounter Bummelz with a visor during the event. A visor is a sun protection worn on the head. If you evolve such a Bummelz into Muntier or Letarking, they will also wear the visor. You can also find Bummelz in its Shiny variant.
If you complete field researches and receive an encounter with a Koalelu or a Bummelz as a reward, the Shiny chances here are increased compared to wild encounters.
What other Pokémon are in the event? In addition to Koalelu and Bummelz with a visor, you can encounter the following Pokémon in the wild during the event:
- Enton*
- Flegmon*
- Traumato*
- Voltilamm*
- Kommandutan*
- Sankabuh
- Somniam* (rare)
All Pokémon marked with * can also appear in their Shiny variant.
What bonuses are there? During the event, there will also be an experience point bonus. If you catch Pokémon, you will receive double the amount of experience points. If you take snapshots during the event, you might experience encounters with event Pokémon.
What other content is in the event? In addition to the event, there will also be field researches that reward you with encounters with event Pokémon. There will also be a collector’s challenge and PokéStop showcases.
If you own the Pokémon GO Plus + and have paired it with Pokémon GO, you will also receive a limited-time research providing you with stardust and encounters with 3 Pokémon. These are Relaxo with a sleeping cap, Bummelz with a visor, and Koalelu, all of which can appear as Shiny.
The research must be completed by June 14, 2024, at 8:00 PM. Here you will find all the corresponding tasks and rewards.
There will also be a paid, limited-time research available during the event. You can purchase it for $2 (approximately €2). It includes a Koalelu backpack for your avatar, encounters with Koalelu and Bummelz with a visor, as well as stardust, experience points, and other items.
You have until June 12, 2024, at 8:00 PM to complete the research.
