How good will Slaking be? Overall, Slaking with Bodyslam is not much better. However, it is situational, as in some cases Bodyslam is indeed the better choice.
Slaking with Bodyslam – How good it will be
This problem exists with Slaking: In terms of stats, Slaking is an extremely good Pokémon. However, its main problem is the fast move Yawn. This move deals 0 damage
As long as Slaking is still learning this attack, even the best charge moves are not really useful, because until it can use the charge move in battle, it deals zero damage. Thus, while Bodyslam is a good attack, Slaking’s fast move somewhat undermines it.
How does it perform as a defender? So far, Slaking has been used as a defender. Here, the Pokémon is also useful with Bodyslam.
Until now, Slaking’s best charge move was Play Rough. This Fairy-type attack was particularly useful against Fighting-type Pokémon, which were often used as attackers. Therefore, Play Rough remains the best in most situations as a defender.
A Slaking with Bodyslam is not so bad either, as Bodyslam deals normal damage to almost all Pokémon. Only a few Pokémon have a resistance to Normal-type attacks. Bodyslam is thus better against Pokémon that are not Fighting-type.
Did you already know that Slaking now learns Bodyslam? In advance, the Chinese Twitter account announced that Slaking should learn Bodyslam. However, this had not been confirmed anywhere else, which is why one was not entirely sure. Now there is confirmation.
Until now, there have been no indications of the attack Heavy Slam, which was found in the last update. Here, some players suspected that Slaking could also learn this move. However, this cannot be confirmed so far.
