In Pokémon GO the Sinnoh event has started. New quests/researches, spawns, raid bosses, and shinies are included. We will show you what you can find in the game now.
What is the Sinnoh event? The current event is part of the Nostalgia Challenge, which is currently in its fourth week. It started on May 22 at 1 PM and runs until May 29 at 1 PM.
The Sinnoh event brings new spawns, bosses, and research tasks that we will introduce to you here.
New Field Research
The new quests: In the past weeks, 8 to 9 new research tasks were added. So far, these are the 9 new research tasks found in the Sinnoh event.
- Play with your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with Haspiror (Can be shiny)
- Earn a heart with your buddy
- Reward: Encounter with Glibunkel (Can be shiny)
- Catch 3 Normal-type Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with Charmian (Can be shiny)
- Catch 2 Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with Chelast (Can be shiny)
- Give your buddy a snack
- Reward: Encounter with Plinfa (Can be shiny)
- Fight against another trainer
- Reward: Encounter with Staralili
- Send 3 Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with Panflam (Can be shiny)
- Hatch an egg
- Reward: Encounter with Schilterus
- Use 1 power-up on a Pokémon
- Reward: Encounter with Burmy (Can be shiny)
New Spawns and Shinies
These new spawns include: Trainers reported that they are now finding the following Pokémon more frequently in the wild. They will help you complete the field research tasks when you need to catch specific Pokémon types.

These new shinies await: During the event announcement, Niantic explained that you might encounter shiny Charmian with luck. In addition, the Pikachu with Lucario hats are also available as shinies. In the following image, you can see the new shiny Pokémon.

What’s new: In the gyms, different raid bosses from the 4th generation are waiting for you. Those marked with an asterisk (*) can also be encountered in shiny form.

What’s new? In addition, a limited-time research has now started again. This time it focuses entirely on the Sinnoh theme and will reward you with a special legendary Pokémon at the end if you complete all tasks.
