In Pokémon GO there is a change to a recurring research. This allows you to acquire rare items more easily.
Every 3 months, a season ends in Pokémon GO and a new one begins. Currently, since September 2, 2025, the season named Stories of Transformation is running, for example. Each season brings new content.
Additionally, with every new season, your rank and progress in the battle league are reset, and you start anew. In this new season, there is a change that ensures you can now obtain 2 of the most coveted items in Pokémon GO much more easily.
Lower Requirements, Strong Items
What is this change? With the start of a new season, you can usually pick up a free ticket for a limited research in the in-game shop. This revolves around the battle league and requires you to achieve a certain number of victories here. It consists of 5 pages with tasks.
In the previous seasons, you had to achieve 100 victories in the battle league on each individual page. It did not matter whether you achieved the victories in the Great, Ultra, or Master League. Special cups with specific rules also count towards the completion of the tasks.
For the new season, there has now been a change to this research. Instead of the previously required 100 victories per page of the research, you now only need 100 battles and 50 victories per page. So, you can complete the entire research with 500 battles and 250 victories.
What items are available in the research? For the individual steps of the research, you will receive various rewards such as stardust, fast and charged TMs. Once you complete a full step, you can also look forward to XL candies.
However, particularly interesting are steps 4 and 5, meaning the additional rewards after 450 battles with 200 victories and 500 battles with 250 victories. Here, you will each receive a Premium Fast TM and a Premium Charged TM.
With the Premium TMs, you can teach your Pokémon a fast or charged move, depending on which item you use. Unlike the regular variants of the items, you can not only directly choose which move it should learn but also gain access to exclusive moves that your Pokémon could not learn otherwise.
These are moves that Pokémon were able to learn for a short time during specific events in the past. There are Pokémon where using a Premium TM is particularly worthwhile.
