The new update of Pokémon GO is now a few days old and players love one thing in particular: the increased visibility.
What happened? Without much announcement, Pokémon GO released a new update. At first glance, the update didn’t seem to have anything significant, but players were amazed when they started playing with the new update.
As they looked around in their game, they suddenly saw much further. More gyms and PokéStops came into view, and the map felt much larger.
That’s why players love the new update
What’s so good about more visibility? Increased visibility has several advantages. For example, you can see more gyms and thus more raids. You can also see more PokéStops and therefore good Pokémon that are nearby.
Especially gyms where EX-raids could take place can now be observed by more people. They can alert their teammates if a raid is in progress to trigger an EX-raid there.
This is what players say: Many players love this expansion. They can now see more gyms from home and inform their community when a raid starts nearby. It is also a help for players who are not in any groups and can now see lower raids more easily.
As the user “bernyjohnsen” writes on Reddit: “Can we quickly thank Niantic for increasing the visibility? I can now see six gyms instead of three. That’s so important for solo players who are not in any groups.”
The comment received over 300 likes and many players agreed. Especially the organization of raids can now take place more easily, say the players. The user “Dinkin____flicka” writes: “Oh cool, I can see another gym from home! That’s wonderful!”
However, there are also some doubts about whether Niantic really intended this step. Another user writes that it is unknown whether it was planned by Niantic or if it is a bug. So one should not celebrate just yet.
What else is new in the update? In addition to the expanded visibility, the update brings the following features:
- 3 new avatar outfits for PvP-medals
- Special candies as rewards in PvP
- minor bug fixes
Next weekend, the limited research on Barschwa will start. Rural players feel disadvantaged in this regard:
