One way to get monsters in Pokémon GO is by hatching eggs. However, a trainer has now reported a bug that left him terribly disappointed in the end. We at MeinMMO took a look at what happened and will show you.
What is it about? To catch monsters in Pokémon GO, you have various options. They spawn in the wild, you find them in raids, or you get them through rewards. Another way is to hatch eggs. Which Pokémon you can find in the respective eggs is summarized here for you.
To hatch them, you need to put them in an incubator and walk the required distance. However, you do not know in advance which monster will come out of the egg, and it usually remains a surprise.
However, this was different for the trainer Azazicc, who reported a game bug in the egg overview on reddit. He was already shown his egg reward before hatching, which ultimately led to a nasty disappointment. We will show you why.
From top attacker to a dud
This is what the bug looked like: As trainer Azazicc shows in his reddit post, he wanted to put a 10 km egg in the incubator. Unlike usual, he was not only shown the corresponding egg. A bug in the game caused his supposed egg reward to be displayed to him in advance. Accordingly, he saw a Flampion, which was supposed to hatch from this 10 km egg.
At the time he created his post, Azazicc still believed he would receive Flampion and wrote: “I think I know what I’m gonna hatch from this egg.” He also explains in the comments that although he is not familiar with the game’s coding, it seems logical to him that Flampion is hiding behind the egg (via reddit.com).
The reddit community is also eagerly following along and asks for an update on whether Flampion really hatched from the egg. Adudewhosadudeforfun writes: “Please keep me updated on what it is. It would be really amazing if it were a Flampion.” (via reddit.com).
It’s not surprising that the community is so excited about this monster, as Flampion can evolve into Flampivian, which is among the best attackers in Pokémon GO. However, the joy of the post creator was short-lived and eventually resulted in bitter disappointment.
This is what hatched from the egg: As he has now announced, instead of the hoped-for Flampion, only an Ohrdoch hatched from the egg. This led to a nasty disappointment for Azazicc and other trainers in the reddit community. 20rzaugg summarizes the situation with the words “Damn bug” (via reddit.com).
This reaction is also not surprising. Compared to Flampion, Ohrdoch is rather a weak Pokémon and thus mainly suitable for the Pokédex. Azazicc can only hope to have better luck with hatching next time.
