Pokémon GO has released the map for the Dortmund GO Fest. It shows the habitats and team lounges. Many fans are disappointed so far.
What can be seen? On Twitter , Niantic shared an image of the map. The following items are marked:
- The 4 habitats of the GO Fest
- 3 team lounges
- 4 information stands
- Sights of Westfalenpark
- The Niantic garden
Niantic wants to provide a look at the information stands that you can use. This is not yet a final map that you will be handed during the GO Fest.

What do the fans say about it? Many players are disappointed with the map so far. Comparing the map with the GO Fest in Chicago, there seemed to be much more there.
In Chicago, for example, there were 5 habitats. In Dortmund, only 4 have been confirmed so far. Additionally, the park in Chicago was significantly smaller than Westfalenpark, yet there was more to see and the paths between the areas were not too large.
On Twitter, the reactions from the players are therefore rather negative. “abyssinier” writes in response to Niantic’s post: “Compared to the map from Chicago, this looks disappointing. I know it’s the first GO Fest in Germany, but a little more effort could have been made.”
Can anything change on the map? This map is not final yet. More details are likely to come. Whether more habitats will be added remains to be seen. If there are only 4 habitats, then we can look forward to the following Pokémon types:
- Rocky Terrain: Rock and Ground
- Boat Lake: Water
- Mysterious Woods: Fairy, Bug, and Grass
- Steel Factory: Steel
These are of course just speculations and are based on the events from the GO Fest in Chicago.
When is the GO Fest? The Dortmund GO Fest starts at the beginning of July. From July 4 to July 7, Dortmund will become the hub of Pokémon GO.
