For a few days now, you can find new monsters from the seventh generation in the Alola season of Pokémon GO. Niantic shared an image featuring additional Pokémon that are not yet released. Players believe that these creatures are coming next.
What’s happening in Pokémon GO right now?
- On March 1, 2022, Niantic began with the release of new Pokémon from the Alola region (Generation 7)
- As we’ve seen with the releases of other generations, not all new Pokémon come to the game at once, but are released gradually.
- On March 2, the Pokémon GO team shared an image featuring unreleased Pokémon. The community believes these are next on the release schedule.

Release of Gen 7 – What’s Coming Next?
This is what Niantic says: In a tweet, the Pokémon GO team writes: “Alola, Trainers. More Pokémon, found for the first time in the Alola region, are now appearing in the world of Pokémon GO. We can only guess what types of Pokémon will appear in the Alola season and beyond!”
They also shared the following graphic:
What can be recognized? The graphic shows many Pokémon from the Alola region, including the shadows of two Trainers. Among them are Alola Pokémon like Exeggutor, which can already be caught in Pokémon GO. But also unreleased Pokémon like Crabrawler can be seen in the image.

On reddit and Twitter, Trainers speculate about an imminent release of some of these Pokémon. Reddit user 2kNoob11 suspects that Shiny Fish might appear in the announced Color Festival in the game: “Shiny Fish is very colorful.”
