What kind of events are these? The raid hour takes place regularly on Wednesdays in Pokémon GO. During this time, legendary raids will spawn in the arenas, which you can battle for a full hour.
In October, there will be such an event every Wednesday. There will also be an extra hour, making it a total of 6 raid hours. It starts this evening with Giratina.

The known dates are: Niantic has already announced the dates for the entire month. The raid hours will take place on the following days:

– October 9, 2019 against Giratina (Altered Form)

Raid hour this evening – Everything you need to know
When does the event start? The raid hour starts this evening at 6 PM. On all arenas that do not host another raid, a legendary egg will hatch. You will then be able to battle Giratina for an hour.
How to defeat Giratina? The legendary Pokémon has many weaknesses. Types such as Ice, Dark, Ghost, Dragon, and Fairy are effective against Giratina. The best counters are Rayquaza and Palkia.
You can already defeat Giratina with three players, specifically at level 25. Therefore, you should not have any major difficulties in a trio.
Are Giratina raids worth it? The legendary Pokémon is currently only available in Altered Form, which unfortunately is not very strong. However, it is worth collecting candies for it and investing them into Giratina’s Origin Form. This form is among the best ghost attackers in the game.
Can Giratina be Shiny? The legendary Pokémon has been able to appear as Shiny since its return. The chance is about 1 in 19.
