In Pokémon GO we are likely to soon experience the debut of the Psychic Pokémon Psiau. The monster from Generation 6 is currently being teased as a new raid boss.
This is what happened over the weekend: Throughout the weekend, Niantic released small teasers that became increasingly clear:
- Initially, there was a raid that is supposed to last 6 hours. This was accompanied by a raid egg, which will be visible on the arena for 44 hours.
- Then they showed the number 677, which was pulled behind an airplane – this is the Pokédex number of Psiau.
- In the most recent teaser, the cry of a Pokémon could be heard – the cry belongs to Psiau.
So we can assume that Psiau will soon appear in Pokémon GO. That makes sense as it comes from the 6th generation, which will be released starting December 2.
Psiau in Pokémon GO – What can the new monster do?
This is Psiau: This Psychic Pokémon is the pre-evolution of Psiaugon. It comes from the Kalos region and is not currently available in Pokémon GO.
This is how strong Psiaugon will be: Psiau itself is not relevant for the meta of Pokémon GO. Therefore, we look at the evolution Psiaugon. The stats are as follows:
- Attack value: 166
- Defense value: 167
- HP value: 179
- Maximum CP: 2124
A look at the stats is enough to see that Psiaugon will also not play a major role. The attack value is weak, and especially among Psychic Pokémon, there is significant competition.
You will only need Psiau and its evolution for the Pokédex entry. Otherwise, the monsters will not play a significant role.
When will Psiau arrive? The raid timer in the teaser on Twitter runs out today, November 30, at 8:00 PM. At least the egg in the video will hatch by then.
It is likely that Psiau will also appear in Pokémon GO or at least be officially announced. The release of the new Pokémon won’t take long in any case.
